Mr. Hueffed

I love teaching, your children.  Being with your children gives my life purpose, and joy.  I have been teaching at Hillside for the past 10 years.  I have taught first grade, second grade, and third grade here.  Before Hillside I taught in Castro Valley for 7 years.   This is a recent picture of me.

Homework

Homework is very important because it allows a child time to master what has been taught.  It is like shooting baskets, When you take the time to practice you master what you learned.  There is homework every night except friday night.  Each child should be reading 20 minutes a night from their Wallgreens book bag.  These bags should be brought back every Monday to exchange the read books for new books.  In addition math homework is due every day. There is a homework packet that goes out every Tuesday and is due back at school finished the following Tuesday.  Make sure that you help your child learn their spelling words by testing them every night before the test on Tuesday.  Your child should be memorizing their times table all year.  They should keep their times table in their back-pack so that they can study their cards at school and at home.  They should know the answers to the times table instantly when shown the card.  If you have questions about homework call me at 432-1582
